By the late 1970s, the Renault 5 (or Le Car, en francais) had established itself as a competent small car on the streets of Europe, as well as performing well in Group 2 rallies. Renault was about to revolutionize Formula One and sports car racing with its small turbocharged engines, but the company had not had success at the highest levels of the World Rally Championship since the days of the Alpine 110, a fact it intended to rectify.
We have this unit in excellent condition with the restoration history book in detail, the turbo appearance kit was hand made and every detail has been homologated for road transit.
